What are Model Views?

When a Revit Model is synced into Layer, all of the views that are configured within Revit are also pulled into Layer. This includes 3D Views and 2D Sheets.

To view all views associated with a model, click on the Models header in the left side-nav, click on a model, and then click into the Views tab. Clicking on the Open ****button will display the view within the model viewer in the app.

3D Views

By default, each phase of the model will have a 3D View generated for it. Any additional 3D views created in Revit will also be visible in Layer after syncing a model.

Sheets

Any 2D sheet created in Revit will be visible in Layer. These may include floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, structural plans, elevation plans, or section views.

Using Revit Views

The primary way to use Revit Views within Layer is to create a Layer Model View. Model views can one or more 2D sheets or 3D views. Learn more about Model Views here.

Updating Revit Views

Revit Views are updated whenever a new version of the model is published. The views displayed for a particular model are the views associated with the current version of the model.
